Agreements between China’s CMG and Lithuanian companies to consolidate partnership, PM Butkevičius says

“I am pleased with CMG’s intentions to extend its activities in Lithuania,” said the Lithuanian head of Government, welcoming the plans to establish Chinese manufacturers’ logistics park in Klaipėda, invest in Klaipėda port and become one of the controlling shareholders of the terminals and a potential partner for further port development.

“Lithuania and China have many opportunities to improve our bilateral economic and trade relations, and the agreements between CMG and Lithuanian companies represent yet another step towards stronger strategic partnership,” said the Lithuanian PM.

He also noted that Lithuania was ready to provide any assistance needed for the company CMG in attracting investments to Lithuania.

“An action plan will be worked out to ensure the successful cooperation between Klaipėda State Seaport Authority and the CMG. It will be done by a commission, set up for the specific purpose (similar to the one for liquefied natural gas terminal project),” said the PM.

Founded in 1872, the CMG is engaged in the transportation and related infrastructure, investment and management, real estate development and corporate governance in China and internationally.
