On 14 November, Member of the Seimas Anti-corruption Commission Agnė Bilotaitė of the conservative Homeland Union addressed the Prosecutor General‘s Office on behalf of her party’s parliamentary group over the possible abuse of power by the two politicians.

The Prosecutor General’s office was addressed after an audio recording was published on 20 October 2014 in which former deputy minister of health Social Democrat Gediminas Černiauskas, taking advantage of his professional duties and mentioning the name of Prime Minister Butkevičius, sought for Social Democrat Vilija Vertelienė to win the competition to head the State Healthcare Accreditation Agency.

Černiauskas headed the competition for the position of the director of State Healthcare Accreditation Agency and was suspected to openly protect Vertelienė. During the competition he used a pen to point for his colleagues at a person who should win the competition.

In the audio recording leaked to the media, Černiauskas was heard to express his anger at the outcome of the competition. Vilija Vertelienė did not win the competition, instead Nora Ribokiene did. The latter said after she became Director of the agency she was urged by Černiauskas to step down.
