Bank of Lithuania governor: Transition to euro was smooth

“The transition to the new currencies was smooth and successful, regardless of some interruptions on the eve,” Vasiliauskas told Vilnius journalists at noon.

In his words, bank cards and ATMs work well, all e-baking services will be fully operational on Friday.

Currencies can be exchanged in 40 places across Lithuania on Thursday, which is a day off. On Friday, people will be able to exchange the litas to the euros in 700 places including post offices.
