Berankis and Grigelis inch down in ATP rankings

Lithuania’s best tennis player Ričardas Berankis went down one spot and is now ranked at the 76th position. The 25-year-old Lithuanian gained so far 664 ATP ranking points and is in a good position for the upcoming Australian Open Grand Slam in the beginning of the 2016 season.

The second-best Lithuanian Laurynas Grigelis lost three positions to take the 262nd place in the world. The 24-year-old-tennis player is still hoping to get back to top 200 in the world. He has 190 ATP points. So far Grigelis has had a great season with several titles in singles and doubles, including the President’s Cup in Lithuania.

Lukas Mugevičius, 20, moved up three positions and is now 620th player in the ATP rankings. Mugevičius is the third-best Lithuanian tennis player who is continuing his ascent.

Dovydas Šakinis lost six positions to take the 1,553rd spot. The 23-year-old Lithuanian has played only two tournaments this season due to his studies in a collage in the USA where he is also playing for his college team.

Tadas Babelis, 18, lost eight positions and took the 1,672nd place. Babelis played so far only six tournaments and has two ATP points.

The last Lithuanian to be ranked is Julius Tverijonas. The 21-year-old Lithuanian is also playing in a college and played so far only four tournaments. This week the Lithuanian climbed up in three positions and took the 2076th place. Tverijonas has only one ATP point so far.
