Cardiovascular diseases, tumors remain most common causes of death in Lithuania

The Institute of Hygiene says the main causes of death remain unchanged for many years and include cardiovascular diseases, malignant tumors and external causes. They accounted for 83 percent of deaths last year.

Over half of people died in Lithuania last year of cardiovascular diseases (56.1 percent), 19.9 percent died of malignant tumors and 7 percent died of external causes.
