Since 2003, this Bazaar has raised more than 1 million Euro, offering goodies from the four corners of the world. It brings together 28 diplomatic representations and 3 international schools, based in Vilnius, participating in a unique event with rare and exclusive products, generally not available in the local shops. It is one day only event, including a wide selection of international food, drinks, original crafts and jewellery. In addition to the international, stand the will the Angel boutique, Art Corner and Soup Stand operated by the IWAV.

Ebba Michelsson, the wife of Finnish Ambassador to Lithuania is this year’s Chair of the organising committee. Mrs Silvija Kirdonyé-Skvernelė, wife of the Prime Minister, is again this year’s Bazaar patron. The new Honorary Patron is Mrs Birutė Vizgirda. Mrs. Alma Adamkienė had been de Charity Bazaar’s Honorary Patron, until last year.

Mrs Michelsson, the Bazaar’s Chair said about the beneficiaries, ”We selected these 8 beneficiaries very carefully among a large number of applicants. Our committee inspect all the projects carefully” and she added, “The hard work of so many volunteers makes this Bazaar possible.”

Mrs. Vizgirda said, “Last year we had 5000 people visiting the 15th edition, and this year we hope to have even more to enjoy the unique crafts, the live entertainment, and the delicious food specialties from around the world.”

The one and only real Finnish Santa Claus will meet all children. He will come down from Korvatunturi, close to the North Pole, where the ageless man lives all year-round. A large selection of national dishes and warm drinks will be served during the Bazaar and musical and dance entertainment for the entire family.

Close to 100,000 Euro, was raised last year! That money was distributed during a public event to 10 beneficiaries all across Lithuania. The organising committee’s goal is to improve this year on this impressive result.
