Conscript injured in Lithuania after detonating unknown device

According to the press release, the accident occurred when the troop of mandatory initial military service detonated the device in the smoking area in the unit’s territory at about 6:45 a.m., incurring injuries to three of his fingers on the right hand.

The man received emergency medical attention and rushed to Kaunas clinic by paramedics. He was diagnosed with finger injuries and is in stable condition. The military unit is in constant contact with doctors of the Kaunas clinic.

An in-house investigation has been opened. The man’s parents have been notified of the incident.
