“We currently have about 40-45 users who seem to have been affected by the virus, according to information from international sources,” Rainys, director of the RRT Networks and Information Security Department, told BNS on Saturday afternoon.
One person affected by the ransomware has officially turned to the authority, which is also working to help the Center of Innovative Medicine, which was affected on Friday. Delfi.lt has reported that the center has received a ransom request for just over 1 bitcoin, however, does not plan on paying the ransom, as it has backup for all of the necessary data.
In Rainys’ words, RRT is working to identify the affected persons but it is already clear that “there are no institutions or infrastructure of critical importance on the list.”
