“A year has passed, and the achievements are indeed different, but the conditions were also different, as well as the different ministries, and the ministers came with different initial work,” Skvernelis told journalists on Wednesday.
He mentioned Health Care Minister Aurelijus Veryga as an example of frequent mentions. Information from Lithuanian media monitoring and survey company Mediaskopas, which was published by BNS earlier on Wednesday, suggests that Veryga was the minister with the most media attention during the government’s first year in office.
Skvernelis expressed hope that Veryga would be able to continue working at the ministry, which, in his words, features extremely many interests.
Asked to comment on particularly low visibility of some ministers, the prime minister noted that the government did not include prominent politicians, furthermore, some of them were not familiar with the bureaucratic apparatus before joining the Cabinet.
The government of Saulius Skvernelis was sworn in a year ago, on Dec. 13 of 2016.
