According to the Hydrometeorological Service, the level of drought was on Friday reached in the Municipalities of Lazdijai, Alytus, Marijampolė, Trąkai District and Kalvarija.
The last time drought was declared in Lithuania was in 2005 and it lasted several days.
Dry weather is set to stay in Lithuania at least until the middle of the next week and might even stay up until July.
