According to a press release from the Police Department, the neutralization was completed at around 1 a.m. on Thursday. The detonator was destroyed at the site, while the remaining part of the bomb was taken to the army’s Pabradė training ground. The vehicle was accompanied by fire-and-rescue services.

The explosive close the Tauro Hill and the Lukiškių Square was discovered on Wednesday afternoon, causing evacuation of residents of surrounding houses and closed traffic on neighboring streets, namely, the Gedimino Avenue, Kudirkos, Rotundo and Jasinskio streets.

15min.lt news portal said the biggest challenge for explosives specialists was the location of the explosive next to a gas pipe.
