Former president Adamkus discharged from hospital after kidney removal surgery

His doctors say they are satisfied with Adamkus’ condition.

The former president left for home to continue rehabilitation. Leaving the hospital with a smile on his face, Adamkus said he felt well and thanked the medical staff.

Adamkus has been undergoing treatment after cancerous cells were found in his right kidney three years ago.

He was Lithuania’s president in 1998-2003 and 2004-2009.
