The money from the government’s reserve fund will go to the Lithuanian National Museum, which is currently in charge of the hill.

The city of Vilnius last week declared an emergency situation due the critical condition of Gediminas Hill, making it possible to use reserve funding for fixing the historic mound.

Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis promised earlier this week that the hill’s problems would be tackled in a comprehensive way in the future.
