Government mulls scrapping projects for publicizing via media, PM says

“I’m not saying we should stop doing so, but we may raise the issue of whether the money is being used for its intended purpose and ask whether the money for publicizing could be used in in other ways,” Skvernelis said on LRT Radio.

“Discussions are underway and we’ll see the decisions at a later stage,” he said when asked if the government would consider scrapping publicity projects.

The prime minister said issues of importance for the government could be made public via ” the public broadcaster, on ministries’ websites and in other forms.”

Skvernelis commented on his recent Facebook post in which he said that perhaps it would be more reasonable to use “tens of millions of euros that the media receive from state institutions each year” for other purposes.
