
The nomination was put forward at the Government meeting on Wednesday.
With the approval of the president, Bagdonas, who now runs the Eastern Neighbourhood Policy Department at the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs, would represent Lithuania in Tel Aviv from 8 August.
Bagdonas’ diplomatic career began in 1994 when he was the consul of the Lithuanian Embassy in Ukraine, he later headed the State and Diplomatic Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was ambassador to Italy and Belarus, chief of the Foreign Policy Group and adviser to President Valdas Adamkus.
