International M.K. Čiurlionis Music Festival started in Palanga

The official opening of the festival on Saturday invited listeners to the Summer Sonata concert, the program for which featured romantic music by some of the world’s most famous classical masters. On Friday night, residents and guests of Palanga enjoyed wonderful classical music melodies in the young talent marathon Festival Prelude, which was performed until midnight.

The festival has a special concert instock for fans of romanticist music. One of the most famous European classical musicians, Lithuanian star Lukas Geniušas, will perform a program of Frédéric Chopin’s pieces. An amazing performance awaits fans of Vytautas Landsbergis and pianist Goda Gedvilaitė.

The festival will be crowned by Darius Mažintas’ performance with the Vytautas Magnus University Chamber Orchestra, and the closing concert will include masterpieces by Johan Sebastien Bach and other classical composers.

Following festival tradition, each concert introduces young performers from various cities and towns across Lithuania who are just starting out on their musical careers.
