State Tax Inspectorate
DELFI / Mindaugas Ažušilis

Six out of 11 registered applicants were interviewed for the job in the final stage of the competitive selection procedure, the Finance Ministry said on Monday.

Raminta Stanaitytė Česnulienė, a spokeswoman for the finance minister, has told BNS earlier that the winning candidate will be screened by the security services before taking up the post.

The STI has been without a permanent head after Dainoras Bradauskas was fired for official misconduct on Jan. 20. Artūras Klerauskas, deputy director of the STI, is currently acting head of the tax authority.
