“It’s the initial stage so far. We have agreed on scanning only,” Algimantas Raščius, head of Oro Navigacija, told BNS on Tuesday.
The cost of the planned undertaking has not been disclosed.
Weather permitting, the scanning operation will take place on May 30-31. Later on, Dutch experts would advise on ways to salvage the plane.
The An-2 aircraft with two highly-experienced pilots aboard went missing on May 16 en route from Goteborg to Klaipėda. It was found on the bottom of the Baltic Sea last Tuesday, and the body of one of the pilots was spotted inside the plane on Thursday.
