Lithuania drops to 19th place on economic freedom index

DELFI / Mindaugas Ažušilis

Estonia’s standing on the rating is 7th, while Latvia is 28th and Poland 45th, shows the index published by the US research center Heritage Foundation.

Over 2017, the index was pulled down by declining indicators of Lithuania’s government consistency, government costs and tax burden, while business and trade freedom indicators also went down.

Meanwhile, indicators of property rights, efficiency of the judicial system, fiscal health and labor freedom improved.
