Lithuania hosts traditional Snow Meeting of politicians, experts

Participants of the two-day meeting include the foreign ministers of the three Baltic countries and the Vatican, and the Swedish and Estonian defense ministers.

The 11th Snow Meeting is expected to bring together a total of over 100 high-ranking diplomats, advisers, parliamentarians and international and security policy exports from around 15 countries and NATO and EU institutions.

Discussions will focus on how to further strengthen transatlantic links and address security challenges currently faced by the Euro-Atlantic community.

Participants will also discuss preparations for NATO’s summit to be held in Brussels next July and its possible decisions.

A separate session will be held to discuss closer EU defense cooperation initiatives.

The meeting in Paunguriai, a village in the district of Trakai, close to Vilnius, is organized by the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.
