Lithuania’s Justice Ministry said coordination of the treaty with India’s institutions took 20 years.

“The bilateral treaty envisages conditions and procedures for extradition of persons for criminal prosecution or punishment,” the Justice Ministry said in a communique.

The document is yet to be ratified by Lithuania’s parliament.

Lithuania has signed extradition treaties with nine countries, while India has such pacts with 37 states.
