Lithuania receives new batch of tactical communications equipment

Lithuania will receive roughly $33 million in USD as assistance this year. The equipment will be delivered to Lithuania in several stages, the country’s Ministry of National Defence said.

“The equipment delivered by the USA once again proves its solidarity and firm commitment to collective defence. New tactical communications equipment will help Lithuanian military secure interoperability with its allies while delivering on common tasks,” Minister of National Defense Juozas Olekas said.

The first shipment brought to Lithuania under the ERI includes various modifications to the next-generation Harris Falcon III tactical communications equipment. The delivery will be distributed to different units of the Lithuanian Armed Forces and tested at the Iron Wolf exercise scheduled to take place in the first semester of 2016.
