Lithuanian border guards bar entry to 20 football fans

Antanas Montvydas, deputy commander of border guards working under a tightened regime, said on Monday that six Moroccans, four Algerians, three Pakistanis, two Nigerians and two Egyptians were barred from entering Lithuania. Border guards also barred entry to Russian, Chinese and Indian citizens each.

The majority of them had no valid Schengen visas or had improper or fake IDs on them.

“We barred 20 people from entering Lithuania last weekend,” Montvydas told BNS Lithuania.

Kaliningrad is hosting a match between Spain and Morocco on Monday. And Belgium will face England there on Thursday.

Around 2,000 football fans crossed the Lithuania border last night.
