
At the festival that ended on Sunday, the movie by Stonys was awarded for its social message and artistic achievement, the director’s representatives said.
Other nominees for the main prize included “The Domino Effect” by Polish filmmakers Elwira Newiera and Piotr Rosolowski, which has won the main prize at Krakow Film Festival, and “Blood” by Russia’s Alina Rudnickaya.
“Ramin” is a documentary co-produced by Lithuanian, Latvian and Georgian filmmakers. The story tells about Ramin Lomsadze, a 75-year-old wrestler who once won seven fights in 55 seconds and now struggles with loneliness.
Held for the 28th time, Parnu International Documentary and Anthropology Film Festival is one of the highest-regarded documentary forums in the region.
