Darius Jauniškis, director of the Lithuanian State Security Department, told reporters that the proposed amendments provided for a 30 percent pay rise on average for the agency’s staff.

The pay rise will also apply to military intelligence — the Second Investigation Department under the Defense Ministry.

“Overall, (salaries) would rise by 30 percent,” Jauniškis said.
