Lithuanian leaders congratulate Georgia on Independence Day

In her message of congratulations, President Dalia Grybauskaitė “underscored that that shared values and aspirations for freedom brought closer Georgians and Europeans,” her press office said.

According to the president, “Georgia has made substantial progress in achieving important reforms and developing a western society. Already today, we see the tangible results to the benefit of all Georgian citizens”.

“Grybauskaitė extended congratulations on the full entry into force of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement and visa-free travel to the people of Georgia, and wished to retain determination and to further aim for rapprochement with European and transatlantic community countries,” the press office said in a press release.

Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis wished Georgians “every success in the implementation and attainment of the objectives, as well as strength and prosperity in everyday lives”.

“We support Georgia’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and its European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. The long-standing partnership between our countries has created strong foundations, which strengthen our mutual cooperation and foster shared values,” Skvernelis said in his congratulatory message.

“We are ready to continue development of our bilateral relations and contribute to the successful path of Georgia to the European community,” he said.
