“There’s been an order given for every minister to cut their management costs by 5 percent and there’s also a wish to reduce the number of vice-ministers as the Lithuania EU presidency is over,” Butkevičius said.
He hopes the number of vice-ministers will be reduced over the course of this year.
After the Butkevičius government started working in 2012, the number of vice-ministers was increased by almost 10 as the country took over the rotating six-month EU presidency which ended on 31 December 2013.
