The meeting will also touch upon bilateral relations and trade.

“The Emirates are Lithuania’s main partner in the Gulf region. The meeting will focus on ways to further promote bilateral trade and growth, and also on the fact that Lithuania is interested in the UAE’s investment in Lithuania. (…) The UAE’s agricultural product market and invitation of UAE companies to link Vilnius and Abu Dhabi will be also discussed,” Tomas Beržinskas, spokesman for the Lithuanian prime minister, told BNS Lithuania.

The UAE minister is also set to meet with Lithuanian Economy and Transport Minister Virginijus Sinkevičius and Rokas Masiulis later in the day.

Figures from export promotion agency Versli Lietuva show, grains, furniture, mineral fuel and oil make the largest part of Lithuania’s exports to the UAE. Bilateral trade turnover has risen almost 5 times since 2012 to almost 136 million euros.
