The Lithuanian army’s orchestra and Guard of Honor, the Polish contingent of the joint Lithuanian, Polish and Ukrainian brigade (LITPOLUKRBRIG) and the Adolfas Ramanauskas Vanagas combat training center will march in a general line-up, the Defnese Ministry said.

The staged battle will be performed by knights of a club titled Messengers of the Middle Ages who recently returned from an analogous event in Grunwald, a location of the Žalgiris Battle in Poland.

This is the first time a LITPOLUKRBRIG unit is attending the celebration of the Žalgiris Battle in Lithuania.

The battle took place on July 15, 1410, when the alliance of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, led respectively by King Wladyslaw II Jagiello (Jogaila) and Grand Duke Vytautas decisively defeated the German–Prussian Teutonic Knights, led by Grand Master Ulrich von Jungingen. The victory changed the geopolitical situation of Lithuania and Poland.
