Lithuanian TV channel says hackers distorted TV poll results

“After the day’s question was announced during the channel’s news program and viewers were invited to answer it on the zinios.lt website, the channel came under a cyber attack,” the TV channel said in a statement.

The question was “Have you observed an increase in Russian propaganda recently?” and 82 percent of respondents said “It’s not propaganda. Russia is telling the truth”. 12 percent of people responded positively and 6 percent answered “no”.

“The sudden increase in the number of votes in favour of one answer raised suspicion. The subsequent investigation showed that as many as 7,438 votes came from one IP address, making 67 percent of all answers,” TV3 said.
