
The results were also approved in the three constituencies (Šilutė, Southern Žemaitija and Tešiai) that were earlier listed as “problematic” due to vote-buying suspicions and possible violations of the vote counting.
In three of the single-member constituencies, parliamentarians were elected in the first round, while the remaining 68 constituencies will hold a second round on October 23.
In Lithuania, 70 members of parliament are elected in multi-mandate voting and 71 are elected in single-member constituencies.
Lithuania’s electorate this year includes 2,504,267 persons, about 75,000 less from the 2012 elections.
