Recent polls show that the Lithuanian population view their membership in the European Union positively and acknowledge its benefits. At the same time the data shows that the citizens believe that their opinion is unimportant both in the Union and Lithuania itself.
The citizens of Lithuania view membership in the EU the most positively in the entire union. The most negative views of the EU were found in Greece, the Czech Republic, Italy, Cyprus and Austria.
Meanwhile almost half of the Lithuanians interviewed believe that the EU has contributed to the growth of the country, while two fifths believe that the Union has provided new opportunities to find work.
At the same time the majority is convinced that their voice matters little in the EU and even Lithuania itself. This is one of the lowest indicators in the entire bloc.
Nevertheless two fifths of the country believe that things are getting better in the EU lately, which is a figure two times better than the Union average. At the same time, however, almost half of the population think that things are getting worse in Lithuania itself.
