In a message circulated by the President’s Office, Grybauskaitė wished fortitude to the victims’ families and loved ones.
“On behalf of the government of Lithuania, I am conveying sincere condolences over the airplane catastrophe in the Moscow region that claimed many lives,” Skvernelis said in his letter, wishing fortitude and unity in the hour of loss.
After taking off from the Moscow Domodedov airport on Sunday, the Saratov Airlines passenger jet An-148 crashed in the Ramenskoye district of the Moscow region with 71 people aboard, mainly residents of the Orenburg area. The region’s governor said there were no foreigners on the aircraft. There have been no reports of survivors.
