Vilnius police told BNS the incident was reported at 10 a.m. According to the preliminary information, the man injured himself with a firearm and was handed over to paramedics.
The ministry said the officer’s family have been notified of the incident.
Information about personnel of the Second Investigations Department, which is in charge of military intelligence, is not publicly available, therefore, the ministry’s spokeswoman Asta Galdikaitė told BNS no further comments would be made.
