Gintautas Kėvišas

Kevišas received a reprimand, one of the lowest disciplinary sanctions, following a probe into the LNOBT director’s activities in concluding contracts for concerts, because, legally, everything is in order at the theater, Ruokytė-Jonsson said.

The minister underlined that she was calling on Kevišas to step down over ethical issues, not over legal ones.

Ruokyte-Jonsson has said that she has no confidence in the director after it turned out that the LNOBT last year arranged performances by three famous soloists and orchestra in Vilnius under contracts with Riverside Music LTD, a company of Martynas Kevišas, the director’s son.

The concert organizer was paid a total of 390,000 euros. There is no information as to how much of the money went to the performers.
