Minister of Finance to advise Government return 9% VAT on heating in October

“Today I will submit the proposal to the government to bring back the 9 percent value-added tax tariff on heating and hot water,” Šapoka told BNS.

In his words, the reduced rate would be in effect between October 1 and late December on centralized heating only, therefore, would not be available to the residents who heat their homes in other ways, namely, electricity, wood, etc.

Šapoka said the VAT rate would rise next January – a 15 percent tariff is proposed with the new budget, and it would be applied on heating and hotels.
