More Lithuanians optimistic about situation in the country

Four out of ten Lithuanians believe that the general situation in their country has improved over the last two months, according to a poll.

In a Baltijos Tyrimai survey, commissioned by Elta news agency, 39% of respondents said things were getting better in recent months, a rise of 4 points from the previous poll in June. In July 2015, 36% were optimistic about the situation in the country.

Meanwhile 60% in the latest survey said that things were getting worse, down from 64% a year ago.

The optimists were more likely to be people under 30, residents of bigger urban centres and people with household income above €1,000 a month.
