New US defense attaché accredited to Lithuania

Deputy Defense Minister Edvinas Kerza thanked Colonel Jeffrey L. Jennette, the outgoing US defense attaché, for his work in ensuring the smooth running of US-led exercises Saber Strike and Baltops in Lithuania this year.

“The international exercises in the Baltic region and Poland not only strengthened the interoperability and readiness of the countries’ armed forces at NATO‘s eastern borders, but also demonstrated the ability of NATO to respond promptly to crisis situations, particularly in light of the changing geopolitical situation,” Kerza said in a press release.

Mcvey worked at the US embassy in Latvia before his appointment to Lithuania. The US defense attaché will reside in Vilnius.
