One Ukrainian man stabbed to death, 2 wounded in Lithuania

Police are looking for two Ukrainians, aged 39 and 33, suspected of involvement in the incident.

A man called the Fire and Rescue Service at 10:44 p.m. on Wednesday to inform them that a person was trapped inside a burning apartment on Birzelio 23 Street.

Firefighters broke into the apartment and pulled out two Ukrainian nationals. One of the Ukrainians, a 29-year-old man identified by his initials B. N., was dead and the other, a 24-year-old man identified as G. H., was still alive and was rushed to hospital.

A 20-year-old Ukrainian man who had jumped out of the window of the apartment sought help and was also taken to hospital.

The two rescued Ukrainians had suffered knife wounds.

Police have launched a murder investigation.
