“We have agreed on the main coalition issues. (…) Tomorrow will will propose Tamošiūnaitė of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania as candidate for vice-mayor, and we are moving towards finalization (of the coalition),” Šimašius, the leader of the Liberal Movement, told BNS on Tuesday.
The Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania will reportedly get the position of vice-mayor in charge of education and energy.
The position has become a subject of negotiations after the Liberal Movement broke off a coalition with the conservatives in the Lithuanian capital and will sack conservative Vice-Mayor Valdas Benkunskas.
In Simasius’ words, after the details of the coalition agreement are finalized, the new coalition will consist of four parties, namely, the Liberal Movement, the Social Democratic Party, the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania – Union of Christian Families and the Order and Justice party.
