“The investigation is finished and the conclusions are presented. It’s not only important to identify problems but also take real action to solve them. We hope the NSGK’s six-month work will lead to amendments and specific legal instruments to make political processes more transparent,” the presidential press service said in a statement handed over to BNS Lithuania.

The presidential office also reminded that “26 amendments have been prepared, adopted and implemented” initiated by the president over the last eight years, “aimed at fighting corruption and business groups’ influence on political processes”.

The NSGK approved the conclusions of its investigation, carried out more than six months, on Wednesday. They mainly focused on MG Baltic and Russian energy giant Rosatom.
