President sticks to her position on IVF law

DELFI / Andrius Ufartas

“The president stated her position very clearly when she vetoed the bill and her veto with all the amendments proposed by her was upheld. The president’s position is has not changed,” Lina Antanavičienė said on the Žinių Radijas radio station.

“In vetoing the law, (the president) insisted on three points, which are that the freezing of both eggs and embryos should be allowed, that sperm and eggs donation should be allowed and that the number of embryos created should not be limited. The president is not backing down on these points,” she said.

If the Seimas endorsed the provisions rejected by Grybauskaitė earlier this year, she would veto them again, the advisor said.
