“Measures of suppression not involving freedom restriction have been imposed as there is no need for other measures,” Elena Martinonienė, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General‘s Office, told BNS on Thursday.
In her words, former vice-minister of the interior Algimantas Juocevičius, Ervinas Raistenskis, a former adviser to Minister of the Interior Dailis Alfonsas Barakauskas, and producer Rolandas Skaisgirys signed written promises not to leave the country and were forbidden to communicate.
They were released on Thursday after spending two days in custody. The other two detainees in the case – public enterprise Pradas Media director Justinas Garliauskas and Peisachas Kačerginskis, head of company NTService – were also released after signing written promises not to leave the country.
On Tuesday, the Prosecutor General’s Office said it had launched a pre-trial investigation into possible corruption involving the five suspects. Searches have also been carried out at the offices and homes of the suspects.
MP Rimantas Ručys, former executive secretary of the ruling Order and Justice party, has also been questioned as part of the probe and has had his computer seized.
