He acknowledged he had ambitions following the Social Democratic Party’s victory in the 2012 elections, adding he was even considered for agriculture minister.
According to information available to BNS, the parliamentary committee is investigating reports about Bastys being pushed by the head of the Arvi group to hold the top position at the Agriculture Ministry.
On Monday, the National Security and Defence Committee also started analyzing a new episode about Bastys’ contribution and mediation to a Šakiai businessman in an effort to help him secure a contract to manage Soviet graves in Šakiai.
