Seimas speaker thinks e-voting should first be introduced for expatriate voters

Graužinienė says that parliamentary parties currently are in agreement to stick to the Constitutional Court’s ruling and change the map of constituencies in the country for the general elections in 2016. However, no essential changes in the system are planned for the upcoming year.

Under one of the proposed new models for the election system, 140 MPs would be elected in two-member constituencies, while the remaining 1 MP would be elected from a special constituency, established only for Lithuanians living abroad.

The leader of the Seimas believes that this could be a good chance to test an e-voting system.
