Sign marking Vilnius street named after late Polish president to be unveiled

Lecho Kacinskio Street goes from the Planetarium across Konstitucijos Avenue to Lvovo Street at the Vilnius municipality building and borders Jono Jablonskio Skveras.

Thursday’s ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, Vilnius Mayor Remigijus Šimašius and Poland’s ambassador Urszula Doroszewska.

President Kaczynski, his wife and many other high-ranking Polish officials died in a plane crash in Russia in 2010.

The City Council of Vilnius last February decided to name the nameless street next to the municipality building after the neighboring country’s late president.
