The main tasks of the new Centre will be to collect and summarise information about suicides, analyse risk factors. The Centre will be providing proposals regarding suicide prevention and postvention issues to the public and relevant institutions. It will also be performing informational and educational functions.
One of the key tasks will be to systematize information about current suicide prevention measures and programmes in Lithuania, implemented by the Health Ministry, Social Security and Labour Ministry, Ministry of Science and Education, Culture Ministry, Economy Ministry and others.
