“Three investigations have been opened and are in progress, another one is about to be started. All of the probes are in connection with individuals who are not related,” the State Tax Inspectorate said, without naming the individuals.
However, about a month ago, 15min.lt reported about Culture Minister Šarūnas Birutis, MP Kęstutis Daukšys and former Mayor of Palanga Vytautas Stalmokas owning real estate in Bulgaria.
According to the report, Birutis is one of the three owners of a Bulgaria-registered company Agrolitas, which purchased an 18.5 ha land site in eastern Bulgaria for €200,000 in February 2009.
Daukšys’ wife reportedly owns undeclared real estate in Bulgaria, while Stalmokas owned four apartments on the Bulgarian seacoast in addition to being a co-owner of three Bulgaria-registered companies that purchased land in the country.
