Two more cases of ASF detected in wild boars in Lithuania

Both territories are located in the infection zone, thus additional monitoring or restriction measures will not be applied.

The VMVT informed the European Commission and responsible veterinary services of the European Union member-states and neighbouring countries about the new case.

The African swine fever is a very dangerous, highly contagious viral disease that affects pigs and wild boars. It is not harmful to humans. In the event of contamination, all pigs within a designated area are to be put down in order to prevent even more livestock loss from the disease.
