The president notes, however, that the deal “has space for improvement” and that the EU has to continue talks with Tehran.

“Of course, it is large damage for the process of denuclearization of Iran but we also accept that the deal, which was signed with Iran, has space for improvement,” Grybauskaitė told reporters on arriving for the EU-Western Balkans summit in Sofia.

“We would like to use this opportunity to stick to the deal, talk to Iran, persuade Iran, control partly Iran’s program to avoid pushing Iran to the opposite position,” she added.

According to the president, the EU is currently looking for technical solutions to protect its companies working in Iran from US sanctions.
